Day 4 and 5 of STEAM Week saw the Year 6/7 and 5/6 students working with Dr Justin Chalker, a Science Lecturer at Flinders University.  It was also the launch of our STEAM Expo on the Thursday evening and a full day of Expo displays, performances,  interactive experiments and visitors on Friday.  There was a buzz of interest and excitement as families touched, trialled, viewed and read about the many varied and interesting exhibits on display.  There was a replica of a cruise ship, a student-size marble run, 3-D printing, green screen still shots, posters about endangered species, art works using different mediums and solar-powered helicopters, just to name a few.  We thank Trott Park Kindergarten for participating with their experiments throughout Friday and David Speirs, member for the seat of Black who spent time visiting the Expo.  Most importantly, thank you to the many families who took part in this family engagement initiative and with their child/ren made time to have fun and create, investigate, design and/or build something to show at the Expo.  We also thank those parents/caregivers who made time to talk to students about their STEAM-related job or interest.
