Performing Arts Opportunities 2024

We have many performing art opportunities available to Woodend students in 2024.

MUSICAL 2024
We have an exciting opportunity for year 4-6 students for 2024 year levels.
Please see the document at the end of the blog post for all current information and how to put down your child’s name on the expression of interest list.
Students will be added to a seesaw to practice their audition material over the holidays ready for auditions early term 1. Why this early? We are putting this show on the stage at the end of week 9 Term 2. Rehearsals will be on Thursday after school until 5pm in our newly renovated gym and music room.

WOODEND PERFORMANCE TEAM
Our Woodend Performance Team will be competing in the Schools Challenge again for 2024. Our team will perform in term 3 on either the 10th or 11th of September (week 8). These rehearsals are held after school on Mondays in the gym until 4:30. More information to come out early term 1.

SENIOR CHOIR
Students in years 5 and 6 can also be a part of our Senior Choir for the Festival of Music. These lessons happen during school hours in our music room where students learn a repertoire for 2024. Our performance date could be any time in week 8 or 9 of term 3. We will be requesting the Saturday of week 9 to assist any Myojo travelling students; however, we can’t guarantee this. If we do not secure this date we will do our best to still get your singers on stage on that Saturday with another school.

JUNIOR CHOIR
Students in years 3 and 4 have the chance to be a part of the Junior Choir. With many opportunities to perform at school, they can sing along to new and old hits.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
