On Thursday 14th October we welcomed back Tall Poppy Scientist, Margaret Shanafield.  Margaret is a Hydrologist and a Hydrogeologist.  Margaret studies water, and how and where water moves from rainfall into streams into the groundwater (or up into the air via plants).  She loved getting the Year 2 students to think about where their water comes from, what happens to the raindrops that fall on the ground, and who/what relies on water for life.

Margaret revisited the water cycle, an area familiar to the Year 2 students having studied this last semester.  They had some hands-on activities identifying water bugs and discovery salt rates in different water sources.  This was a very engaging experience for the students from Rooms 6, 8, 24 and 30.
