We were treated to many quality performances from our Woodend students at Music Night on Wednesday evening.  In many different rooms around our school, families could listen to flutes, clarinets, keyboards, brass, guitars, recorders, violins and drums.  During the final part of the evening, families were entertained by our senior and junior choirs and our two rock bands.  It was very clear that all students who performed on the night, had been working very hard with their music teachers.  We know that music helps improve thinking and memory; it helps students to develop creativity; students become more active listeners and students also learn that rewards come from hard work, practice and discipline.

We thank all the students who participated for their hard work, persistence and bravery with sharing their budding musical talents.  We would like to particularly thank music/choir teachers – Mr Paul Henson, Mr Tony Hansford, Ms Miriam Moubarak, Ms Masako Kondo, Ms Deb Handley, Ms Barb Williams and Ms Vicki Gregory.  Your skill, support, patience and flexibility makes a difference to the many students keen to learn music.
