At the end of term 1, the Reception students visited the Living Kaurna Centre. The children learnt so many new things during this excursion. We enjoyed a tour with our guide Tom, where we were taught about bush tucker, bush medicine, how objects such as shields and digging sticks were made from natural materials, how the seasons affected where the Kaurna people lived (Winter and Summer) and so much more.
After the tour the children listened to a Dreamtime story, made mandalas and created a piece of artwork using symbols. Here are some photos of the day.
