Ms Diedre Hauber has made the decision to retire from teaching. Ms Hauber began her teaching career at Christies East Primary School in 1979. Over the years she has worked at Macclesfield, Sheidow Park and now Woodend. She taught a variety of R-7 classes and then specialised in learning support while at Sheidow Park Primary School. We have been privileged to have Ms Hauber supporting our students with additional learning needs at Woodend for the past 20 years.

Ms Hauber has an interesting and varied role in learning support and has predominantly worked with small groups of year 5-7 students while at Woodend. She has a wealth of knowledge about supporting individual student learning needs and staff have appreciated her organisation, advocacy and advice.

On Wednesday we held a special assembly to thank and farewell Ms Hauber. Students spoke about how helpful, happy and supportive Ms Hauber has been.

Many thanks for all you have done for us at Woodend Ms Hauber and we wish you a long, healthy and relaxing retirement.

We also have two teachers who are moving on to other schools in the South of Adelaide. Ms Borlace and Mr Uzzell have both been with us for just this year. Although their time at Woodend has been short, they have had a positive impact on learning for our students and staff.  They have been loved by their students and valued members of our staff team. We wish Ms Borlace and Mr Uzzell all the very best for their teaching journeys.

Mrs Fiona Knott has also decided to retire from teaching.  Mrs Knott has been one of our reliable and valued temporary relief teachers at Woodend for the past few years. We were fortunate to have Mrs Knott with us at Assembly to thank and farewell her. We thank Mrs Knott and wish her a safe and enjoyable retirement.
