It is hard to believe that our newest members of Woodend have now completed Term 1!  Our Reception students have engaged in face-to-face learning at school for 11 weeks and that is to commended.  Not only have they been learning sounds, most children are now blending sounds to make a word! They are learning to recognise numbers, make patterns and sort quantities. The children have learnt to climb new equipment and explore new outdoor spaces such as the oval and the garden. Socially, the children are learning how to make and maintain a friend, make ‘A’ choices, and follow our school values of ‘Respect’ ‘Care’ and ‘Community’ in their daily interactions with others. We are very proud of their start to school life. As Term 1 draws to a close, we want to congratulate our Reception children, their teachers and support staff and to all the parents/carers who have supported them on their learning journey.
