Students in years 3 and 5 will participate in NAPLAN testing this term. The NAPLAN test window for 2022 is between the 10th and 20th of May. Most tests will be completed online this year, however all year 3 students will complete the writing test on paper.

Tests are completed in the following order:

Day 1 – Tuesday the 10th of May: Writing (paper for Year 3 only)
Day 2 – Wednesday the 11th of May: Reading
Day 3 – Thursday the 12th of May: Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
Day 4 – Monday the 16th of May: Numeracy

Students who are absent when their class participates in the tests can sit catch-up tests later in the test window.

We ask that all students in years 3 and 5 please bring a pair of corded headphones to school for use during NAPLAN tests.

Supporting your child

NAPLAN is not a test that can be studied for and students are not expected to do so. You can reassure your child that NAPLAN is just one part of their school program and remind them on the day to simply do their best. Teachers will ensure students are familiar with the types of questions in the tests and provide appropriate support and guidance.

Public Demonstration Site

Parents and carers are invited to use the public demonstration tests if they wish to familiarise themselves with the types of questions and related functionalities available in the online NAPLAN assessment.
