NAPLAN is a nationally developed program that provides schools, states and territories with information about how education programs are working and what areas need to be prioritised for improvement.

NAPLAN tests are administered to students in years 3, 5, 7, and 9 simultaneously in all schools across Australia and are aligned to the Australian Curriculum: English and Mathematics.

This year, there will be a nine day testing window from the 11th-21st of May. This window will include allocated times for each of the tests to take place, as well as catch-up sessions for students who have been absent.

In 2021, year 3 students will undertake the writing test on paper. All other tests will be completed online. These tests are just one of many assessments that students undertake throughout the year and do not require students to learn or practise specific skills. In the lead up to the testing window, all students will be given opportunities to become familiar with the NAPLAN Online testing environment.

The national Coordinated Practise Test will take place on Thursday the 25th of March. This is an opportunity for all schools to ensure they are prepared.
