IMPORTANT GRADUATION UPDATE: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

The end of the school year is quickly approaching and planning for graduation is well underway. At this stage, we are hopeful that current COVID restrictions will ease as expected on December 1st. If this is the case, we may be able to proceed with our current Graduation plan where each student can bring two guests.

Our world is unpredictable at present and unfortunately, we can’t take a lifting of restrictions for granted. With this in mind, we have created a back-up plan in the hope that we can avoid having a situation where no adults are able to attend. If restrictions were to stay as they are today and taking in to account student numbers and the COVID plans required by the venue, our graduation ceremony would be run twice and our year 7s would be split into class groups for two separate graduation ceremonies.

Session 1: 6pm – 7pm
Room 28 (Peta Harnois) and Room 29 (Trent Harris)

Session 2: 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Room 17 (Tegan Reid), Room 19 (Jess Ottewell) and Room 27 (Marc Saffin)

In this scenario, guests would need to be limited to STRICTLY one per student. We know that this is difficult for everyone, but it is the only way that students would be able to have a guest to celebrate with them. The ceremony would also be live-streamed to allow families to watch from home. Restrictions would also mean that running a disco would not be possible.

We are very fortunate that we have a venue that is large enough to allow for this. Many schools have unfortunately needed to run their ceremonies with no guests in attendance at all. We are sharing the back-up plan now to allow families time to consider how they will manage this if it becomes necessary.

As stated above, we are hopeful that the plan for an easing of restrictions in South Australia stays on track and that we are able to proceed with our original plans. As you would understand, the conditions and restrictions that we operate under are changing quickly and we are working hard put it place the best plans for our students that we are able to.

Thank you for your understanding at this time.
