The Year 6/7 students were privileged to have another Tall Poppy Scientist work with them on Tuesday this week.  Ian Moffat was awarded Tall Poppy Scientist for 2020 in his field of Archaeology.  Ian’s presentation complemented the work students had undertaken in History linked to ancient civilisations.  Ian spoke about the passion he has for his field and the places he has explored to discover interesting items from years gone by.  He also discussed his work on burial sites and his forensic investigations. The students had the opportunity to use a ground penetrating radar to image the subsurface of the school hall floor.  They could observe the layers of soil and other deposits over time.
