This year, the Year 6 students worked closely with Mrs Coster to give the letterbox at the front of our school a fresh, vibrant new look.

Each Year 6 student painted a rose, symbolising the special tradition of receiving roses at Woodend’s welcoming assembly in Reception and again in Year 6 when they are farewelled as they graduate. The roses represent the journey students have taken from the start of their time at primary school to the moment they leave. A dedicated group of students also helped to add extra details to the artwork, adding the fine rose details and painting the rolling hillsides that surround our school, capturing the natural beauty of our environment.

Around the top of the letterbox, we’ve proudly displayed our school values—Respect, Community, and Care. These values are the foundation of our school spirit, and we wanted to make sure they were visible for all to see, as they have guided us throughout our time here.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Coster for supporting us in this creative project, allowing us to leave behind a meaningful piece of art that will be admired for years to come. We have already received many compliments from staff, students, and visitors as we’ve worked on this together, and we’re proud to leave behind such a beautiful reminder of our time at school.
