Update for Concert and Fireworks – more information about the Super Family Event.
Please note that the Canteen BBQ is meat sausages, along with onion and bread. If you are unable to eat meat sausages, I suggest bringing other food to eat for tea. While there will be other items available from the canteen, we are not able to cater for all dietary needs.
Each class will be called up when it is their turn and then they will perform on stage. Parents, Grandparents and Caregivers can move to the front of the stage which is a chair free area, to sit and watch their child’s performance. We ask that this area be kept just for people connected to the performance that is happening at that time.
Everyone else is welcome to bring chairs or rugs to sit on during the concert. Eskys are permitted but please remember that this event is alcohol free. There is to be no smoking or vaping anywhere on the oval/school grounds. You may bring any other food and drinks and nibbles to complement what is available from the Canteen.
At approximately 9pm, when it is dark enough to begin the fireworks, an instruction will be given to move to the safe viewing area, nearest to the school building end off the oval. Once in position and deemed safe by the Pyrotechnicians, the Fireworks display will begin.
This night is a great way to celebrate 2022.
Kindest Regards,

I thought parents could bring 1 or 2 drinks and drink responsible. Understand at sporting events cause parents can get hot headed but at a Christmas event? It would be nice to relax with a drink and the other parents after so much has been cancelled over the last few years.

Hi Jo Anne, while previous practice has been that alcohol has been allowed at our Christmas event, the education department has revised their policy in light of the issue of young people and alcohol, and it is clear that alcohol is not allowed at a community event with young children, though there are allowances for fetes and some specific events where permission can be sought. Given the nature of our Christmas event, the direction was given to me that it was not a time for alcohol to be permitted. I am sure that people can spend one night without having an alcoholic drink, and we certainly aim to provide an entertaining concert with a lovely fireworks ending. Certainly, in my years here at school, I have not had parents being irresponsible with their drinking, which I think is a lovely aspect of our school community. Please have a lovely Christmas, stay safe and enjoy being part of our school community. Kind regards, Steve
