We are excited to be holding our annual STEAM Week again in 2022. Students will have the opportunity to imagine, action and showcase their ideas in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics as they explore our theme ‘MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE’ (adapted from this year’s National Science Week theme)

A reminder of key dates and events:
  • Term 3 School Holidays: Families are invited to take part in our 2022 design challenge

We encourage families to take part in this fun challenge over the holidays. Do you have something old, unused, or damaged at home? How can you repurpose it into something that is ‘more than meets the eye’?

This challenge invites your family to think creatively and sustainably, solve problems and have fun as you work together to find an unexpected use for an everyday item.

We look forward to seeing your family STEAM challenge turn into a design/creation/display ready to bring for our STEAM Week!

  • Tuesday 18/10 @ 5pm: Arts Showcase  – this is a virtual event

The 2022 Arts Showcase will be made available to stream from 5pm via our News Blog and Woodend Primary School Facebook page.

  • Thursday 20/10 & Friday 21/10: STEAM Week Expo – this will take place on Thursday the 20th of October from 6-7pm & Friday the 21st of October from 8.30am-12.30pm. Guests are welcome to come any time during these sessions, no booking necessary.

  • Career/Interest Talks – these will occur during STEAM Week

Thank you to those parents/carers or friends of Woodend who have offered to share about their interest or career in the               areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and/or Maths. This valued part of the STEAM Week program provides                   students with an opportunity to see the wide range of pathways offered through STEAM. If you have volunteered, you                     should have received your date and time to meet with your child’s class.

For more information, please read the STEAM Week News Blog post dated 23/9/22.

Kind regards,

The STEAM Week Team
