We are now taking enquiries about instrumental music lessons with our private providers in 2022. These lessons have a weekly cost and occur during school times. All payments and ongoing communication about lessons takes place between parents/caregivers and the provider.

Lessons during school hours are offered to students from year 3. In consultation with parents and teachers, some providers may offer lessons to younger students outside of class times, eg before school and at recess and lunch time.

Please read the information below about each of the programs.  You can choose to register your child’s interest using this Form or contact providers directly.

Lessons range in price from approximately $30 to $40 per 30 minute lesson, with some providers also offering small group lessons.

Guitar lessons with Paul Henson have been a part of our Woodend community for many years. This is a very popular program, with many students learning guitar each year.

Paul offers lessons for Acoustic Guitar and Bass Guitar. Private and small group lessons are available.

Rock Band: We are seeking expressions of interest in Rock Band for 2022. This has been a very popular program in previous years. If there is enough interest, Rock Band will be offered for a small cost to those already learning an instrument.

Lessons for String instruments will be offered by Sian Williams. Sian has taught strings for over 15 years in many schools around Adelaide. She specialises in primary aged children on violin, viola and cello as well as offering theory tuition alongside or independent to a music lesson. Sian has an extensive background in music therapy assistant work with children who may be anxious, living with ASD, ADHD, auditory and sensory processing, dyslexia, and dysgraphia and general social or academic challenges. She can be contacted on 0417836179 or sian@internode.on.net for any queries.

Sian offers an introductory year long program before school for students in years 1 and 2 only (limited places) or standard 1 on 1 30-minute lessons. January trial lessons available at home music studio before school commences for those wishing to start early.

String Ensemble: String Ensemble is an option that may be available depending on demand. Similar to Rock Band, this ensemble will be charged separately. The cost for these sessions will depend on how many students are involved.

Ukulele: Next year, Sian will also have some limited spaces for students wishing to learn Ukulele.
