Dear families,

the recent outbreak at Parafield is a stark reminder that we are very much still in the grip of a pandemic and that things can change ever so quickly. We hope that this is brought under control and the spread is contained.

From a school perspective, we will comply with SA Health instructions and defer any major decisions related to events/activities at this stage, until it is clear what the implications of the outbreak are.

You may have already read that SAPSASA events scheduled for this week have been cancelled and community sports events have been cancelled also. I will share other news as it comes to hand either via our Teams App or a BlogPost.  The next 48 hours will be critical in determining our timelines in being able to resume these activities.

I ask that all visitors to school continue to report only to the front office and not enter rooms within any part of the school other than the front office.  For the time being we will revert to communication with teachers via phone, email or Zoom. It is important that you are able to access class Facebook information for any updates from your child’s teacher(s).

Our planning continues for the end of year Graduation with any updates not due for another two weeks at least. At this stage we still plan on having limited numbers of parents/caregivers attending. Please rely only on information via the blog or personal communication from myself or the year 7 class teachers.

Thankyou for your ongoing support as we continue to provide an education for all our students. At present there is no indication that we will move to online learning, though SA Health could alter that at any time.  Teachers are prepared and ready to move to online learning should it be necessary.  We are aiming to keep everyone safe and appreciate that we work as a school community and need your help to make this a reality.

Kind Regards,

Steve Freeman
