The Woodend community have been very fortunate to have Helen Lewis working in our Canteen for the past eleven years.  During this time, Helen has had oversight of all canteen operations and her organisation skills have been faultless.  Thousands of orders have been placed, suppliers organised, shopping purchased each week, menu changes made, costings altered and meals prepared to satisfy our growing students. She has welcomed hundreds of parents, caregivers and grandparents into the canteen with open arms as we are always in need of volunteers and she has trained hundreds of students as helpers over this time.  Many a menu change recommended by the Healthy Eating Committee has had Helen’s practical headset behind the change and Helen has always been receptive to feedback and new ideas linked to good health and nutrition.  Helen has decided to step away from canteen life and we thank her for her loyalty and commitment to the Woodend community.  Helen’s services were acknowledged at our last school assembly and students from each year level made a card for her last day.  Helen will kindly mentor the next canteen manager commencing this term.  We wish Helen all the best for her next chapter.
