At Woodend, we see science as an ideal way to grow our students’ curiosity and creativity as well as strengthening scientific and mathematical thinking.  The success of our Science Week in Term 4 last year, was a testament to our commitment to grow science within our community.

Feedback from students is that they would like to do:

  • more hands on science, more often
  • more science investigations
  • construction of more things and spend more time on longer term projects
  • a display, experiment and/or model with family members as a family project

2017 sees us grow our commitment to science with a Science Focus Week in the first week of Term 4.  We are now calling for a planning group of students, parents and teachers to see this to fruition.  Our first meeting is on Wednesday 23 August (Week 5) at 3.30pm in the Meeting Room.  We would appreciate your time, energy and ideas to plan this exciting and engaging week. If you can join us, please let your teacher know and or call the front office and register your interest.  Thank you.
