A number of schools in South Australia have recently reported high rates of absence due to the flu. We would like to remind families of some important preventative measures to decrease the risk for students at Woodend.

  • Please ensure that sick children stay at home until they are completely recovered, so they do not pass illness onto their peers.
  • It is not too late for children to have a flu injection as we are yet to see the peak of the influenza season.
  • Good cough, sneeze and hand hygiene are important in preventing the spread of flu.
  • A key message for students is: Wash, wipe, cover, don’t infect another.
