It is really  important that our students have experiences making and doing things for real, authentic purpose.  Teachers strive to orchestrate learning activities that help students connect to something real and meaningful in their lives.  So it was that when Cate Ellis (design technology teacher) worked with these students  from Amelia Bolt’s Yr 2 class, their task was not just to make some flowers out of  card and paper. They made flowers and vases that would have a real purpose; to beautify the tables in the staffroom.  They created really lovely flowers which  look all the better because they were proudly made with purpose and joy.
