Seaview High School is situated at 78-124 Seacombe Road, Seacombe Heights. Seaview is the ideal size, not too small and not too crowed. They offer a wide range of subjects and learning opportunities for all their eager students.

On Thursday March 5th, the Year 6/7 students of Woodend Primary were lucky enough to meet with Seaview’s principal, performing arts teacher and a handful of their students for an exciting and informative presentation about Seaveiw High School.

At the beginning of this presentation, five Year 8 students stepped up to tell us about their brilliant start at a welcoming high school. They talked about various things such as sports, STEM, Seaview’s music program, performing arts, specialist subjects, learning support and the fact that they are currently finishing a brand new, purpose built dance studio. They have also upgraded their classrooms to a higher lever and they are fully supportive of BYOD. Three year eight students also performed their dance to ‘Uptown Funk’ which they’d been working on for only six weeks, showing us they have a very efficient dance program. Two guitarists and two singers from year 9-11 also performed two songs (Blank Space and Diamonds).

Seaview has a focus on Tennis. In year 8 Tennis lessons can replace regular PE and fitness. If weather is not suited for Tennis students fill their time by playing badminton or table tennis. Seaview offers club facilities such as tennis courts with expansive and inviting play spaces. They also offer sporting facilities that include a full size oval, a soccer pitch, a gymnasium and two multi purpose activity halls.

The school has a powerful performing arts program which offers Drama, Dnace and Music from year 8-12. The Music Program focusses on Contemporary Music and Music Industry. Students have access modern and useful technology and soundproof recording studios. The Performing Arts theatre includes complete stage facilities including dance mirrors, digital lighting and multi media technology for performances.  Visual Art, Design, Digital Photography and Creative Media participants are allowed access to spacious well lit rooms including Apple computers for their learning. Entry to music program requires an audition.  It was clear to us that Seaview offers a wide range of subjects to meet each individual leaders’ needs. They are close to Woodend so you may be in zone for Seaview.

They are hosting an open night on March 30th from 5.30 to 7.30pm.
