Our choir program is up and running for the year. We have had HUGE interest from students in years 5-7 interested in giving senior choir a try, with around 80 students registering to be a part of the program. Today, 50 of those students participated in our first excursion to learn some new music at Marion Primary School with the music director of the Public Schools Music Festival. It was a great workshop and our students represented Woodend very well.

Our Junior choir program will also start over the next week and again we expect that a large number of students in our younger year levels will be involved.

Research has shown that participating in singing has a positive effect on the brain and learning. It’s great to see so many of our students involved and we look forward to having opportunities to see them perform at assemblies and other school events.
