A sincere welcome back to all our Woodend families and we look forward to another positive and productive year ahead.  We would like to welcome all new families to our school and trust you enjoy being part of our community.

Parents/carers from the new 2018 Reception year have been provided with emailed ‘Welcome’ Newsletters and a parent/carer talk with school leaders at the end of 2017.  Here are just a few reminders for next week’s start at school.

For 2018 new Reception parents/carers:

– Next Monday 29/1/18 we offer our “Cheers or Tears” parent get together. Once you say goodbye to your child/ren, you are welcome to come to the kitchen (next to the Library) and have a drink and nibble and meet other parents/carers from the 2018 Reception group.  This will commence at 8.45am.  Members of Parent Network and the leadership team will also be present to answer any questions and help you with any queries.

– Reception children go home at 12.30pm each day next week.  In the afternoon, Reception teachers meet with parents/carers which we call ‘Building Connections Conversations’.  If you haven’t had an opportunity to book one of these 30 minute time slots with the teacher, please see them to arrange a time.

– First week: your child will need to bring: a fruit or vegetable snack, a recess snack, their water bottle and hat to school.  Stationery is provided.

Second week and beyond: (they will be full days) they will need to also bring (or order) their lunch.

We look forward to meeting you at ‘Cheers or Tears’ or sometime during the term.
