Our Woodend girl’s Rugby League team won their local metropolitan competition at Happy Valley Primary School earlier this term and won a place in the State Finals competition at West Beach. Our girls were great all day. They worked very hard and showed teamwork and sportsmanship as we expect from our Woodend students.  We are very proud of their efforts and their ability to improve throughout the day.

Our team finished the day in 5th place and have achieved great success in such a short time. All of our girls in the team and the other Woodend students were only introduced to Rugby League 10 weeks ago for the first time. They competed against girls and schools who have been involved with this sport for many years. Congratulations and well done to our team on a great day.
