On Monday, 29 August our school had 20 year 6/7 students compete in a SAPSASA Volleyball competition at Marion Leisure Centre. All of the teams played well and were able to achieve great results. This day was used as a qualifying day for the state finals.10 of the students were able to finish on top of their division for the day and therefore earn themselves into the state finals day on Wednesday the 14th of September at Mars Sporting Complex. We had 1 boys and 1 girls team compete on the day and they did really well. The girls went through their pool games undefeated on the day and unfortunately narrowly lost in their semi-final game to finish 3rd in their division. The boys team won 2 and lost 2 of their pool games and were able to win their semi-final game. This gave them an opportunity to play against St Michaels in the grand final and unfortunately went down to them to finish as silver medallists for the competition.
Congratulations to all students who competed over the 2 days, it was pleasing to see that their training and commitment to improve their game was rewarded with good on court success.
